So what do you do ladies when you find someone that you can’t shake, when you find the one that after many attempts to cut this person off you can’t? Do you go with the flow and allow yourself to be consumed with the very joyous emotions that you have been searching for your whole life? Or do you allow fear to consume your heart and make it become stale? Hard, stiff to any emotion that could possibly equate itself with love. Do you continue to play the same games that you have always played or do you turn in your card? Do you afford yourself the happiness that this person could possibly bring you? Or does the risk out weight the reward. What if you’re wrong? What if you relax the holds that you have on your heart so that you can receive the feeling that this person is trying to show you, should you do this? You have perfected the art of upholding your shield blocking all emotions that have tried to enter into your being and cause you to feel, that have attempted to try to lead you on or deceive you into thinking that someone could actually care about you and want to be with you maybe even “wife you”. Why is it so hard to believe that we can attract a good man that is willing to love us? I think it’s just hard to think that after all of the bad guys that we have had to entertain that there is actually one out of the bunch that we can actually trust to do the right thing. We can’t afford to think this way. It’s a defeated attitude and it will handicap our ability to love and in turn allow others to love us. I’m not in this situation  just want to know what you think

  1. Great topic, and one I actually just wrote on. It’s so easy for both men and women to build emotional walls to protect themselves from being hurt. Unfortunately doing so prevents you from allowing love in.

In love I think there are a few very important things:

    1) you need to love yourself. You need to recognize your own self worth and value yourself. After all, if you don’t love yourself how can you expect to love someone else?

    2) you need to allow yourself to be vulnerable, and allow yourself to be hurt. Chances are you will be, but allowing that vulnerability allows intimacy. When you build walls and don’t let people in you create a situation where you limit your relationship.

I’m not pretending that either of the above are easy. But when you can do them, I think you end up much happier in the long run.

  2. Sometimes you just have to allow yourself to take that risk and open up that door even if you fear that you might get hurt in the process. But what if you don’t open the door and shut out the one and only for ever? That little risk might be worth it…

  3. Try this formula: Put your left hand over your heart and your right hand on your forehead and say, “I will only think of HIM as much as HE thinks of ME.”

What is going on right now? You’re probably thinking of HIM > than HE is < YOU. Bring in the =, the equality of the sexes.

And good luck with all of that!

  4. This is exactly how I feel about God. I cant stop thinking about Him and lately I have had such a hard time trusting Him. My anger towards Him has turned into hate and bitterness…I admit it. This article you wrote, its what’s in my head when it comes to God. I suck at relationships, so maybe this relationship, with God, is one that I’m willing to risk…one that the rewards are worth it. So I thank you for writing this and commenting on my post which stirred up some deep forgotten feelings that I didn’t even realize that I was missing.

  5. Ok, I’ll be honest….I find myself in this situation all the time. Here’s the problem: I don’t think it’s really love….It’s just my obsessive nature. When I turn it towards projects or personal improvement it works great, but love? Not so much! I just smile and tell myself that this person is better off without such a crazy woman in his life 🙂
